Residential or commercial buildings need to have emergency lighting on the stairs for access and escape. Such lighting in the past was resolved by installing batteries on the lower level, in order to provide the 120 V needed to light the lamps. They were of filament and the system worked poorly only in order to get authorization from the Fire Department and the "occupancy", because both the battery and chargers was precarious damaging them soon, as the duration of lighting during emergencies was small, due to the high consumption of filament lamps.
With the advent of economic lamps, fluorescent, made possible the use of the breaks on this system, but its use was restricted to high category buildings, where residents could pay dearly for comfort, for the cost of a no-break fitting.
Today with the advent of ´ LED s and the inverters, it is possible to obtain a good result using a gel battery, with 5 years of duration, a charge controller and wind or solar charging system charging system beyond the network, today's most advanced and economical, can cost very little and last 20 years changing only the batteries every 5 years.
Motion sensors embedded in the energy-saving fixtures tornado batteries cheaper, besides the use of ´ LED s, which causes the entire system to be more economical, although apparently still high cost of LED emitters (if we calculate the stops for replacement of fluorescent bulbs every 3000 hours, operating cost, consumption, environmental poisoningThis is equal to or less than the cost of current lamps).
